Unaccompanied Alien Children
Youth Co-Op provides services to unaccompanied alien children following release from custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement. The program provides home visits and referrals to medical, legal, academic, and community services for the client/family. Through the Post Release Services program, Youth Co-Op connects families with the necessary community resources and provides education to facilitate their successful integration into the community.
Residential Services For Unaccompanied Alien Children
Youth Co-Op provides educational and vocational services to unaccompanied girls between the ages of 13 to 17. The services are provided at USCRI’s Rinconcito del Sol, “a little corner of sunshine,” made possible by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and families under the Unaccompanied Alien Children Program. At Rinconcito del Sol, with the help of professional staff, these unaccompanied girls have their basic needs met, including healthy meals, education, medical care, mental health services, recreational activities, and exercise programs, to help them become better prepared for their new life.
