BACK TO WORK 50+ at youth co-op, inc.

BACK TO WORK 50+ Program helps unemployed or under-employed older adults with limited incomes to improve their job search skills with the guidance of trained career coaches. Through workshops, videos and coaching, the program helps individuals over the age of 50 to use a job search guide and other tools to set up and launch a job search plan that is aligned with today’s economy. The program’s goal is to reach and serve older adults by incorporating tools and resources that address the unique challenges of workers age 50 and older, and introduces them to short-term training, work-based learning and other support programs they may need. Youth Co-Op and AARP Foundation collaborate to bring monthly online BACK TO WORK 50+ Coaching Cohorts taught by professional coaches.  Program participants attend online classes twice a week and work with local coaches throughout the week to get personalized support and a deeper understanding of the local labor market.  YCI provides participants with online/virtual individual and small group coaching; help job candidates complete the steps in the Job Campaign Checklist, launch their job campaigns, connect with short-term training, and access job opportunities. Youth Co-Op collaborates with business services/employer relations staff to connect job candidates to job openings identified by local employers.
