Youth Co-Op announces partnership with USCIS and OCPE

Youth Co-Op was honored to welcome the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Office of Citizenship, Partnerships, and Engagement (OCPE) to our Doral location last week. Connie Perez-Borroto, Youth Co-Op’s President & CEO, pledged the organization’s unwavering commitment to upholding the values of our great nation through Youth Co-Op’s mission to serve individuals through employment, education and empowerment, or e3.

Connie Perez-Borroto, President & CEO of Youth Co-Op, believes that upholding the values of our great nation is not just a duty but also a privilege. She says, “Youth Co-Op’s mission is to serve individuals by providing them with employment and educational opportunities while equipping them with necessary skills for success. We are proud to work towards fulfilling this mission alongside USCIS and OCPE.”

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, which will be celebrated today, September 17th brings even greater meaning to our collaboration. This commemoration honors both the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787, and an observance that began in 1940 as “I Am an American Day.” Citizenship Day began in 1952, signed into law by President Harry Truman, and in 1955, President Dwight Eisenhower proclaimed the first Constitution Week. As part of Constitution Week, USCIS will welcome more than 17,000 new citizens in over 400 naturalization ceremonies across the nation from September 14-23.
