Jesus Garcia

Born in Miami to a family of Cuban refugees and raised in Little Havana, Mr. Garcia understands the pressures that refugee immigrant families face. His working career with the refugee community began at age 14, when he first joined the summer youth employment program at Youth Co-Op, Inc.

Soon after graduation, he joined the Youth Co-Op,” Youth Stay in School Program” where he served as Case Manager in the schools providing direct services for high risk immigrant youth. He continued his career in the social services field holding various positions, including Welfare Transition Program Case Manager, Employment Coordinator, and One Stop Career Center Director.

Currently, he is responsible for the daily operations of the Refugee Program in Palm Beach County where he manages a team of 18 dedicated human service professionals and oversees contracts that are designated to providing Resettlement, Employment, and Youth services for refugees, asylees, and the Cuban/Haitian entrant population.
